RESIDENCIES IN SPOLETO
- Welcome / Benvenuti -
Residencies programs give artists and writers the opportunity to live and work outside of their usual environments, providing them with time to reflect, research, or produce work. Hosted by Casale Flaminia, we have welcomed writers and artists since 2018. Our residencies are curated with the intention of carefully suiting individuals to the unique environment and resources we can offer at Spoleto, a culturally vibrant city that pre-dates Rome.
- City of Art -
Fall in love with Umbria’s most artistic and musical community of Spoleto, city of art and culture listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, pre-dating Rome. Spoleto boasts an impressive 20th Century art history thanks to the Festival Dei Due Mondi.
- Casale Flaminia -
Casale Flaminia is a private 17th century country house set in 1.5 hectares of garden, meadow and forest on the edge of the top-hill settlement Acquaiura built around the year of 1000 AD along the ancient Roman Flaminia route, leading directly to Spoleto, a culturally vibrant city that pre-dates Rome.
Casale Flaminia provides an opportunity to work in quiet and inspiring surroundings in the company of fellow artists, writers, novelists, and poets. Working, dreaming, cooking, and laughing together.

- Surrounded by Nature -
Relax in the gardens overlooking the rolling hills of Umbria and the land with the sacred forest of Bona Dea. Help yourself to fresh herbs, fruits from the trees and vegetables from the land. Casale Flaminia has been inhabited for centuries by farmers and the village was a refreshment place for the papal troops and messengers who camped in the valley near the source of water, hence the name of our top-hill settlement Acquaiura.
